Workshops
ONDM2020 will host four workshops that will complement the main conference programme, offering opportunities to discuss and debate about controversial topics of interest of the conference such as disaggregated optical networks, computing, vertical 5G applications, and photonic technologies.
The format of each workshop is determined by the organizers, but in general, they consist of short presentations followed by a panel discussion. The workshops offer a wider knowledge perspective around the conference topics related to ongoing research or industrial projects, providing an interactive learning environment.
Workshops will be held on Monday morning (9:00-13:00), May 18, 2020.
- WS1: The role of computing in the post 5G-era: Architectures and enabling technologies
- WS2: Disaggregated Optical Networks: hype, huge potential or somewhere in the middle?
- WS3: 5G: new industrial revolution or only higher bandwidth?
- WS4: Photonic technologies and programmability for scalable efficient optical networks: actual enablers or next challenges towards supporting future connectivity?
All workshops are open and free of charge for everybody. Interested attendees not registered to the conference must register here.
